Actually, I learned in elementary school at some environmental field trip that compared to the damage that synthetic fabrics cause in their processing AND decomposing, fur is a more "environmentally friendly" choice because it's natural, decomposes easily and lasts practically forever. Think of all the coats you would have bought and thrown away in your lifetime contributing to waste. Now you have one that will last you that duration. Of course, the same argument could be made for 100% cotton clothing and by no means does this mean that everyone should go out and buy fur coats made from endangered species. But yeah, just something I heard. :P
